Happy December! It's the middle of the month and things are in full swing at the Hudson house. We've made spice cake and chewy ginger cookies and a chocolate pie is on the horizon this week! In addition to planning Christmas for a five year old, almost three year old, and twin one year olds, my middle daughter's birthday is December 21. I know, great planning on our part. She was actually due on December 25, so I was unbelievably overjoyed and relieved when I went into labor late in the evening on the 20th. But, her birthday was pretty overshadowed last year, with the birth of the twins only a month earlier, plus Christmas a few days later. We planned to go all out and have a huge party for her this year, when sassy pants informed us she only wanted to have her two cousins at her party. The theme is the movie Tangled, and we are going to go sledding in our front yard. Nice and easy for mom.
Enough about my personal life, you say, what's happening on the writing front? Well, a lot of editing. And Then It Was You is back from the editor with some very helpful criticism, and I'll be tackling that next week. Dance for You is due back this week, but I have a feeling there will be significantly fewer problems with it. I've decided to finish writing Only You (Book 4) before I start editing Waiting for You (Book 3), because I know writing those during Nano will mean a ton of rewriting. I am looking forward to wrapping up the writing stage on the Falling for You series. It's been a blast, but I'm ready for some new stories! A few days ago I was in the head space that I needed to work on something but I didn't really want to edit, or write, so I decided to outline. Let Freedom Ring now has a very intense outline, that will make writing it so much faster (which is good since I need to release it by Mid-June according to plan). I'll tell you, outlining a Fourth of July themed book in December made me miss summer. BBQs, fireworks, boating, and of course, a sexy summer romance - I'm looking forward to dreaming of summer while writing this in late winter! Hope you are having a happy holiday season, however you celebrate! Love always, Lucy
